Material Certs
Upload a Material Test Report and select the applicable material
specification. Semper compares chemistry, mechanical properties, and hardness
against the spec's requirements and renders the result as a compliance matrix.
The workspace is organized into three tabs:
- Intake — start a single MTR review and manage the spec curation queue. A badge on the tab counts specs that are blocking material acceptance.
- Batch — review a whole package of certificates against one spec.
- Results — the verdict, findings, compliance matrix, and review dock for the latest run. A badge counts the findings. A completed run switches you here automatically.
Single MTR review
From the Intake tab:
- Upload MTR — the certificate PDF. Born-digital PDFs work best; scans are supported when your deployment includes local OCR. Results identify the extraction basis and retain uncertain reads for your confirmation.
- Upload spec — the material specification to check against, or pick one already in your workspace. Selecting a spec always replaces any previously staged file.
- Fill in the receipt context as needed — material grade, product form / size, expected heat, expected lot, PO / line, part number, drawing / revision, traveler, work order, and quantity. Every field is optional; each value you provide is cross-checked against the MTR.
- Click Run compliance review. The status line announces progress and the workspace lands on Results when the run completes.
You can also drag an MTR and a spec anywhere onto the workspace — when both
are recognized, the review starts automatically.
If your workspace offers Load Sample B (Acceptable), you can use the
sample pack to walk through an acceptable single-cert review without adding a
production document.
Reading the results
The Results tab shows the verdict bar (acceptable, needs review, or
blocked), summary chips by severity, the extraction snapshot, the findings
list, and the compliance matrix: each requirement from the spec, the
value parsed from the certificate, and a deterministic pass/fail verdict.
Hardness values are checked with standard conversion tables when the cert and
spec use different scales.
For impact testing, the matrix keeps Charpy readings with their available test
context, such as temperature and orientation. This helps keep unrelated values
from being treated as impact-test results.
Work the matrix from the keyboard: j / k move through criteria rows,
a / r / e disposition the linked finding (confirm issue, mark false
positive, resolve). Click any row to open its side-by-side MTR and spec
evidence, switch between the two sources, and Annotate evidence to save
region annotations to the MTR record.
When the verdict allows it, Accept material records a durable acceptance
with your identity. Acceptance is blocked while an unvalidated spec is in the
curation queue.
Package review
From the Batch tab, select every certificate PDF for the package, choose
the package spec, and add the PO number and receipt heats. Run batch review
processes all certificates in one pass and renders a dossier: per-certificate
statuses, receipt heats, and any blocking specs rolled up by PO or receipt.
Each receipt heat needs a certificate — heats without one block the package.

Curating specifications
Parsed PDF specifications land in the spec curation queue on the Intake
tab before they're trusted for automated checks. Curated JSON specs are
authoritative; PDF specs remain import-assistant inputs until curated. Review
the parsed requirements and Save curated JSON to promote a spec for reuse
across future reviews. The Intake tab badge counts specs still blocking
acceptance.
After the review
- Open in Findings — disposition individual compliance findings alongside the rest of your queue.
- Open graph — see the evidence graph linking cert values, spec requirements, and verdicts.
- Share — use the Result-page menu to copy a review link for a signed-in teammate, or create and manage a read-only supplier link when your access allows it. See Sharing & exports.
- Export packet — the single export action for the full compliance record and quality files.
- The review dock on the Results tab keeps Comments, History, and Copilot beside the evidence; comments and attachments save to the MTR evidence record, separate from drawing markups.
